Our health workers monitor the weight of 1 to 5 children in their respective villages every month and identify the lower weight children for their age. They provide those children with additional nutrition supplement, 6 days in a week, in the form of traditional snacks – Ground nut+ ragi / bajra laddu and Sesame laddu, made with jaggery. This supplements protein, fat, carbohydrates, iron and other micro nutrients. Continuous follow up with the mothers, providing nutrition supplements and nutrition awareness programs made the mothers think about nutrition in their daily food, which they never did before.
