Driving directions to Thenur
From Tiruchirapalli (Trichy)
By Private vehicle
1) Proceed to Mannachanellur
Some significant points between Trichy Railway Junction and Mannachanellur: Chattaram Bus Stand, Cauvery Bridge, Thiruvanai Kovil, Colleron Bridge, Tolgate, Nouchiyam
2) At Mannachanellur (refer the red line in the above map), a road to the left leads to Turaiyur and a straight road towards Aiyampallayam/Edumalai. Take the straight road to Aiyampallayam.
3) Drive further north and at about 8 kms from Mannachanellur, the roads leads to a fork. At the fork, keep to the left.
4) Drive further north. At about 9 kms from the fork (17 kms from Mannachanellur), past Valaiyur, you will reach a village, Nallenthrapuram. Here there will be a road to the right which goes to Edumalai – do not take it, this is just a landmark.
5) Drive further north, at about 4 kms from Nallenthrapuram, on the left will be sloped roof buildings with traditional tiles. This is the Payir site. If you miss it, in another 500 m, you will enter Thenur village.

Direct buses to Thenur depart from Chattiram bus stand. Bus final destination will be Turaiyur but make sure it runs via Thenur/T.Kalathur. The bus timings from Chattiram bus stand and the bus service name are listed below:
